A wafer, also called a slice or substrate, is a thin slice of semiconductor material, such as a crystalline silicon, used in electronics for the fabrication of integrated circuits and in photovoltaics for conventional, wafer-based solar cells. The wafer serves as the substrate for microelectronic devices built in and over the wafer and undergoes many microfabrication process steps such as doping or ion implantation, etching, deposition of various materials, and photolithographic patterning. Finally, the individual microcircuits are separated (dicing) and packaged.

IPL is short for Intense Pulsed Light, IPL machines are used for a range of treatments as hair removal, skin rejuvenation, pigmentation removal, acne clearance and vascular therapy. Filters and waveguides are critical components in IPL machine, it blocks the harmful UV light sourcing from Xe lamps.
Hangzhou Shalom EO provides a variety of IPL filters and waveguides made from sapphire, fused silica and BK7, with various types of coating band. The available wavelength are: 430nm; 450nm; 480nm; 510nm; 530nm; 560nm; 580nm; 640nm; 690nm; 700nm; 750nm. Achromatic waveplate or retarders is made from two different substrate materials such as crystal quartz and magnesium fluoride. For the single material waveplates the working wavelength is very limited because of the dispersion of the material. While Achromatic Waveplate use two different kinds of material, the dispersions of the birefringence are also different. Hence such waveplate is not sensitive to the wavelength change.
