Various types of high purity organic plastic scintillators have been indigenously fabricated at cheaper rates using different ingredients of acrylic (Polyvinyl benzene) and different combination of primary solutes (*PPO, TP, PBD-butyl, naphthalene and anthracene, etc.) for detection of alpha, beta, gamma and neutrons.

The method of dissolving primary solutes in molten solvent in temperature range 145-155 C have been proved to be very effective in making an efficient scintillator.

PBD, Butyl is the best flour for plastic scintillators and gives highest efficiency to particle detection.
