Lithium tantalate crystal belongs trigonal crystal system and is a kind of distorted perovskite structure crystals. The dielectric constant is 41~53, the primary electro-optical coefficient ɣ12=7.0×10^-12m/V, and the electromechanical coupling coefficient R15≥0.3. LiTaO3 crystal is a ferroelectric crystal with Curie point (603±2)℃ and spontaneous polarization intensity 50×10^-6C/cm^2. Lithium tantalate crystal (LiTaO3) has excellent electro-optical, piezoelectric, electrical and pyroelectric properties, with a pyroelectric coefficient of 2.3×10-7 C/cm2/K. Lithium tantalate crystals also haas good mechanical and physical properties, and it is low cost. Lithium tantalate crystal is used as a Q-switch in laser technology, as a pyroelectric detector in infrared technology, and as a filter and resonator in the electronics industry.
