Optical Grade LiNbO3, LiTaO3 Crystal Wafers

Optical-grade LiNbO3 crystals are specifically grown and processed to meet stringent optical performance requirements, making them essential in various photonics and laser applications. The lithium niobate crystals (LiNbO3) have stable physical and chemical properties and are easy to process. Lithium niobate crystals have a wide light transmission range from 0.3μm  to 5μm, covering the visible to mid-wave infrared spectrum, in combination with the advantages of high refractive index, low optical loss, and a high electro-optic coefficient, making lithium crystal wafers a popular choice to develop high-quality optical waveguides, second harmonic generated blue lasers, optical modulators, optical isolators, and integrated photonics. Lithium niobate optoelectronic devices such as switches have been widely studied and practically applied in the fields of electronic technologies, optical communication technologies, and laser technologies. Recently, with the breakthrough progress of the fifth-generation wireless communication (5G), micro-nano photonics, integrated photonics, and quantum optics, lithium niobate crystals have once again attracted widespread attention.  

Lithium tantalate  (LiTaO3) Crystal has excellent electro-optical, piezoelectric, electrical, and pyroelectric properties, with a pyroelectric coefficient of 2.3×10-7 C/cm2/K. LiTaO3 is grown using the Czochralski method, ensuring high purity and low defect density. The material undergoes strict quality control. With excellent nonlinear optical properties and strong birefringence, optical-grade lithium tantalate is utilized for a wide range of applications including SHG and 3HG, optical modulation, and waveguide. LiTaO3 also finds versatile usages as a pyroelectric detector in infrared technologies and as a filter and resonator for electronics.
